Voter Rolls Are Not Fixed, Always Check Your Registration

The deadline to register to vote in Indiana’s 2026 general election is October 5. Whether you are registering for the first time or have voted for years, take time to confirm your record.
Voter rolls are not static. Records can change through routine list maintenance, address updates, returned mail, duplicate-record reviews, and information received from other government agencies. Checking early gives you time to correct an error and avoid complications when voting.
Visit IndianaVoters.com and select “Check Voting Status.” Make sure your registration is active and review your name, residential address, and mailing address. If you have moved, changed your name, or receive mail somewhere other than your residence, submit an update by the deadline.
Brown County recently transitioned to vote centers, allowing voters to cast a ballot at any county vote center on Election Day. Visiting IndianaVoters.com also allows you to find those polling locations and see who will appear on your ballot.
This preparation matters in our rural community, where travel distances, transportation, and internet access can present challenges. Every vote helps shape decisions closest to home. Check your registration today and encourage a neighbor to check, too.

In this nonpartisan speech, Jon Meacham walks audiences through moments that have seemed intractable – which can include the Influenza Pandemic of 1918, the battle against polio, FDR’s reaction to the first days of the Depression, Winston Churchill’s decision to fight on against Hitler and the Cuban Missile Crisis – to offer lessons for leaders in how to endure and prevail.
