The League of Women Voters of Brown County is a nonpartisan civic organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. The League works to increase understanding of major public policy issues through education and advocacy. Membership is open to all regardless of gender.
We never support or oppose any political party or candidate.

General Election Early Voting Schedule Announced
Early voting hours have been announced for Brown County, giving voters several opportunities to cast their ballots before Election Day.
Early voting begins Tuesday, October 6, at the Brown County Fairgrounds. During the first two weeks, voting will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Beginning Monday, October 19, the Fairgrounds will also be open on Mondays. Weekday voting will continue through Friday, October 30, with hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Additional weekend and satellite voting opportunities include:
- Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Brown County Fairgrounds and Van Buren Elementary School
- Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Brown County Fairgrounds and Helmsburg Elementary School
- Monday, November 2, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Brown County Fairgrounds.
With weekday, evening, and Saturday options available, voters are encouraged to choose the date and location that work best for them. Before heading to the polls, voters should confirm current voting information through IndianaVoters.com. Save our calendar below for a handy quick-view.

LWVBC Promotes Voter Education
Questions about Voting? The Brown County Democrat Newspaper and the League are partnering to provide weekly bulletins addressing key voting issues. Look for these in the “Rail” section of the paper on the front page. For the week of September 16th , the topic was Voter Registration. In the September 23rd edition, read about public testing of election equipment. Check each week for additional topics and let us know if you would like to be a contributor/writer!
